Four Week Lesson Series Starting Thursday, April 1

Our latest round of weekly Swing classes commences Thursday, April 1 at the Afro-American Center at 211 Park Street, New Haven. Blues classes begin Sunday, April 11. Classes are open to everyone, and you don’t have to bring a partner. No special shoes are required.

SWING CLASSES: Thursdays 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22

• Intro to Swing 6:00-7:30 PM
• Intermediate Swing 7:30-9:00 PM

BLUES CLASSES: Sundays 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2

• Intermediate Blues 5:30-6:45 PM
  
• Intro to Blues 6:45-8:00 PM

All classes meet at the Afro-American Cultural Center, 211 Park St, New Haven*.

*Sunday Blues Classes and Practicum Moved to GPSCY for April 11th Only

The first Blues classes as well as the weekly practicum that all takes place TOMORROW, April 11, have been moved to GPSCY at 204 York Street, New Haven.

Given the continuing recession, we want to acknowledge that students are not the only members of our community who might need discounts in order to be able to keep up their dancing. In order to be sensitive to the unemployed (and under-employed) in our community, we are instituting a sliding scale for class series prices which we will maintain entirely on an honor system.

Minimum suggested prices are as follows:

• Any ONE class series: $20 regular, $15 student
  
• Any TWO (concurrent) class series: $35 regular, $25 student
  
• Any THREE (concurrent) class series: $45 regular, $30 student
  
• All FOUR (concurrent) class series: $55 regular, $35 student

Our online registration process will charge these prices, with the option to contribute more. Please keep in mind when choosing how much to contribute that our normal price for "non-students" was $30; that in many studios and classrooms across the country the price for an equivalent amount of instruction would be closer to $50; and that all the money you choose to give will go directly to bringing you amazing live music at the exciting events you’ve come to love. Any additional contributions would be very much appreciated in order to keep our programs regularly scheduled. Thanks!
